Care Concern bought an existing property in a prominent and desirable part of Edinburgh. The substantial Victorian built stone villa had been linked by a 1980’s brick built extension. The main challenge for this project was to provide a state of the art, luxurious and contemporary care home whilst respecting the original building and bringing the facility up to date to meet current care guidelines. Demolition of the brick building coupled with façade retention of the Victorian villa was the starting point with changes in levels, building materials and architectural styles used to articulate a stunning new facility for the Client.
