Private House, Ravelston Dykes, Edinburgh
Completed: 2010
Client: Private
Budget: unknown
Our Client purchased an existing property in a desirable part of Edinburgh and having looked at the possibility of renovating the existing house it was decided that it was both practical and economical to demolish and build a new house, custom built to suit the brief.
The floor plan offered open plan family living but with enough flexibility to provide private and intimate spaces. The external aesthetic was driven by a more traditional approach to acknowledge some of the existing context, whilst the interior spaces and finish have a more contemporary feel. The Client had a young family and wanted to future proof the home with the latest technology and installed a ground source heat pump to reduce reliance on electricity and gas networks.
